Meet the founders
Neha Patel, LPC
I'm Neha Patel, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and owner of Flow Psychotherapy. My work is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally attuned care — with specialties in trauma/PTSD, OCD, and the unique mental health experiences of South Asian communities. I use ACT, ERP, narrative therapy, and existential approaches to help clients build lives grounded in their values. I'm also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), which is what brought me to ROOT — because I've seen firsthand how powerful it is when therapy and the body work together.
Komal Mokha, RYT
I'm Komal Mokha, the founder of Aaram Yoga and a registered yoga teacher and Ayurvedic nutritionist. My practice is rooted in the belief that the body holds wisdom — and that movement, breath, and rest are powerful pathways back to ourselves. I bring a trauma-informed, nervous system-centered approach to yoga, and I'm passionate about making these practices accessible, grounding, and deeply healing.
Together, we make ROOT.
Root was created from a shared belief that healing should feel both supported and sustainable — not rushed, not fragmented, and not limited to one approach. As we are both two professionals passionate about healing humans, we've both seen how powerful our individual modalities are. Therapy offers a space for reflection, meaning-making, and emotional processing. Yoga offers a pathway back into the body through movement, breath, and nervous system regulation. Each is deeply effective on its own — and together, they become something even more impactful. Root was built from friendship, collaboration, and a shared commitment to holistic care — because we believe the most meaningful transformation happens when mind and body are supported together.
The Root Method
At Root, we believe healing happens when insight meets embodiment. Therapy supports the mind — our stories, beliefs, emotions, and meaning-making. Yoga supports the body — breath, sensation, nervous system rhythm, and movement.
Together, they create the conditions for deeper change through three core outcomes: Rest, Release, and Regulation.
Therapy creates insight. Yoga creates embodiment. Together, they create integration.

We believe in transparent pricing and will always share costs upfront. Some clients use HSA/FSA funds — we recommend checking with your provider. ROOT will provide superbills to submit to insurance for reimbursement.

ROOT is for all ages who are ready to go deeper than traditional talk therapy alone. You might be navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself. You don't need prior yoga or therapy experience — just a willingness to show up and engage with the process.
-
All yoga sessions at ROOT are trauma-informed and fully adaptable. You do not need to be flexible, athletic, or have any prior yoga experience. Our somatic practice is gentle and focused on nervous system regulation — not performance. Please mention any physical considerations in your interest form so we can support you appropriately.

Not at all. ROOT is designed to be accessible regardless of your background. Whether you've never been to therapy or have been in treatment for years, we meet you where you are. The same goes for yoga — no experience necessary.
